Sugar Land Celebrating Hispanic Heritage & Dia de los Muertos

Culture and Education Come Together As We Celebrate Dia de los Muertos

2023 Video Promotion

This year marks the 124th anniversary of Hispanic Heritage in Sugar Land.  The Sugar Land Heritage Museum & Visitors Center is pleased to honor this landmark in Sugar Land history with a Dia de los Muertos exhibit from October 17 to November 4, 2023. The exhibit will comprise a three-week display of altars created by local families to commemorate their beloved ancestors who lived in Sugar Land and contributed to its development. The exhibition will also have an afternoon event on Saturday, October 21 at “Sugar Land Town Square” which will include live music, entertainment, costume contest, and historical-cultural presentations.

The City of Sugar Land and the Sugar Land Heritage Foundation are donating time and materials to facilitate this exciting exhibit.  Public donations are required to make it a real success. Through generous support from businesses, foundations and the community, the Sugar Land Heritage Foundation can continue its partnership with educational organizations and institutions to foster cultural awareness and embrace diversity.  Donors will be honored for their generous contributions during the three-week exhibit, at the October 21 event at the “Sugar Land Town Square” and on the organizers’ digital media channels.

We are looking for Sponsors to help with the cost of the event.  Use the 2023 SL Hispanic Heritage Sponsorship Form Button below for the Sponsor form.  If you wish to pay online, use the donation button at the top and put DdlM and the Sponsor Level in the Comments.
